Complete Guide to Daily Inspection Checklist for Outdoor Power Equipment in Tropical Areas

Outdoor power facilities have to face the test of high temperature, heavy rain, salt fog, thunderstorm and strong wind all year round in tropical Southeast Asia. Daily inspection is the most economical and effective way to reduce failure rate. Many on-site personnel only make random patrols without standardized inspection items, resulting in many hidden dangers being missed until faults break out.

Forming a fixed inspection checklist can standardize daily work, make inspection items clear and not omitted, and greatly improve the safety management level of on-site power system.

Inspection CategoryCore Checking ItemsInspection FocusHandling Standard
External Overall StatusShell corrosion, paint peeling, deformation damageCheck salt fog erosion and rainwater soaking traceMinor rust do anti-corrosion treatment, serious deformation arrange maintenance
Sealing & Waterproof PartCabinets sealing strip, wiring inlet gap, waterproof cover integrityCheck whether there is gap water seepage and aging deformationReplace aging sealing accessories immediately, strengthen gap sealing
Connection & FastenerTerminal wiring tightness, bolt looseness, contact oxidationCheck heating trace and discoloration at connection pointRetighten loose parts, clean oxidation and apply protective grease
Environmental AdaptationEquipment surrounding water accumulation, ventilation condition, sundry stackingCheck low-lying waterlogging and heat dissipation obstructionDredge drainage in time, clean surrounding sundries and keep ventilation
Operation AbnormalityRunning noise, shell temperature, voltage stabilityDistinguish normal working sound and abnormal resonanceRecord abnormal data, arrange electrician to check hidden danger

It is suggested to implement routine inspection every week in dry season and increase to twice a week in monsoon and thunderstorm season. Record all inspection contents truthfully, form file records, and provide basis for later maintenance and equipment renewal.
